As a result of several years of research work by the ai:L in the field of facade development and building physics, the institute has laboratory and measuring technology at its disposal with which various types of building climate measured values can be determined locally. These include U-values of building components, room temperatures and humidity, air tightness, sound levels, luminance and global radiation. In addition, we have access to a CNC milling machine and a 3D printer with which models and prototypes of all kinds can be produced.

 

The measurement technology at a glance:

Data Logger Ahlborn 2590-2

The universal data logger has two measuring inputs, an internal measured value memory and an external storage option (SD card). It has outputs for USB, RS232, Ethernet and analog and is suitable for applications with a handheld device.

Measuring module: Humidity & Temperature Ahlb. FHAD460 L10

The module enables the digital transmission of measured values from the sensor element to the measuring instrument to avoid errors due to digital-to-analog conversion in the sensor or analog-to-digital conversion in the measuring instrument.

Illuminance measuring head Ahlborn FLA613VL

The measuring head determines the existing area-related luminous flux with the aid of two measuring channels for interior lighting (light-sensitive) and for ambient light (less light-sensitive).

Meteo multi sensor Ahlborn FMA-510

This tool is a measuring system for determining the important weather parameters temperature, relative humidity, air pressure, wind speed, wind direction and liquid precipitation.

Infrared camera Flir E6, Ex-Series

The IR camera detects temperature differences < 0.06 °C. This is an advantage for building inspections and moisture investigations in building components, where thermal temperature differences are often minimal.

The universal data logger has a total of 9 measuring inputs and an internal measured value memory as well as an external storage option for an SD card. In addition, it has 2 outputs for USB, RS232, Ethernet and analogue.

Luminance measuring head Ahlborn FLA603LDM2

The measuring head is equipped with an achromatically corrected, low-scattered light optics and a high-quality V-detector according to DIN class B. The external sighting device enables an exact location of the measuring point.

Global radiation measuring head Ahlborn FLA613VLM

The measuring head determines the current incoming solar radiation and is particularly suitable for outdoor measurements, e.g. for climate research, in weather information and forecast systems.

Barometer Greisinger GMH3161-12

The barometer measures pressures from 0 - 1300 mbar, the resolution is 1 mbar. Its accuracy is ± 0.4 % FS (0 - 50° C). The measuring pressure can be output in the units mbar, bar, kPa, MPa, PSI, mmHg.

Sound level meter Ahlb. MA86193

The measuring range of the digital sound level meter is between 35 and 130 dB with an accuracy of ± 2.0 dB. The frequency weighting can be output in A and C. For recording the measured values, the meter can be connected to all ALMEMO devices.

Heat flow meter HFM 436 Lambda

With the heat flow meter, plate-shaped samples can be examined. An integrated or external computer determines the thermal conductivity and the thermal resistance of the inserted sample.
